The JumpSTART Program is made possible through funding from the York Region Innovation Fund.
Project JumpSTART continues strengthening York Region’s business economy by fostering innovation with a focus on international and women-led tech entrepreneurs.
JumpSTART enhances the capacity for business development growth and local job creation among entrepreneurs who have traditionally faced barriers to success. JumpSTART equips participants with the tools and skills to develop and expand their businesses. Regional businesses are the national businesses of tomorrow. This project fosters their growth and nurtures their capacity from the ground up–all from York Region.
About the Program
The Treefrog Accelerator provides international Accelerator programming to international entrepreneurs looking to settle their business in York Region*.

- Schulich Market Readiness Reports
- Mentorship from Schulich EIRs
- Exclusive networking and workshop opportunities with VIP attendees
- Access to YSpace ELLA Membership Program (Female founders only)

1. How to Qualify
If accepted into the Treefrog Accelerator International Program you are automatically considered for further JumpSTART support if the following conditions are met.
Preference will be given to:

- Tech founders who are committed to attending the Treefrog Accelerator International program (90% attendance) and to working to improve their businesses
- Those who sign a letter of intent to locate their business in York Region
- Those that can demonstrate their business belongs to a market with growth potential.
- Founders who are open to feedback and coachable
2. How to Apply
1. Apply to the Treefrog Accelerator International Program
2. When filling out the intake form, specify York Region (or the specific town in York Region) where you’re planning to settle your business.
* There are no additional fees to participate in JumpSTART. Treefrog Accelerator International fees still apply to attend our program. Selection for Schulich support is at the discretion of the Treefrog Accelerator and Schulich teams.
3. What Happens Next
- The Treefrog Accelerator team will review your application. If you are selected to move ahead you will be invited for an interview.
- Successful candidates will be granted admission to the following cohort.
- During the cohort all potential JumpSTART candidates will be reviewed.
- You will be notified in writing if you are invited to participate in additional JumpSTART certifications or supports.
